While I don’t like Thinkpads as much as I did, they still have the great advantage of being very tough.
An anonymous PHD was actually typing for two hours next to the heater, and the laptop screen was protecting her from the direct heat. Than she told me “something smells funny”. To my horror the screen back cover was melted and burnt plastic was flowing around. Amazingly, it still works perfectly, if you ignore some disfiguration. There most be a lesson here.
