BugShooting is another great free tool for screen captures that doesn’t cost a cent: http://www.bugshooting.com/web/

You could also use some cheap and reliable hosting for SVN and Trac rather than setting up your own. In Testuff we used hosted-projects.com and they were ace.

Google Web Optimizer is also a really important tool if you want to do a/b testing and get those conversion rates up. It’s also great for empirically settling religious office arguments about color.

Windows is “free” when you buy $1700 lenovos.
You might need to pay to downgrade from Vista to XPSP3.
We are thinking on how developing software without hardware at all, but the solution is only 95% complete

We’ve often talked about this in-house here, as it is the model we use as a start-up. We take Google Apps (including mail), Salesforce CRM, and our own OnState Communications virtual call center software (which if we were billing out would be $49.95/mo), all of which are easily scalable and cloud-based, and for less than $150/mo. (and no CAPEX), you can add a new employee and have them up and running with everything they need.

For screen captures, if you aren’t ready to pay for SnagIt, I’ve found Wisdom Software’s ScreenHunter Free to be pretty good on WIndows:

For individual call routing I’ve been trying out Google Voice. If you can get an invite to the beta it’s not bad.
